The status indicator in the EMERGENCY CALL system pushbutton switch (S93/3) serves for checking the function of the EMERGENCY CALL system.

Every time the EMERGENCY CALL system is switched on the status indicator comes on for approx. 5 s and signals the readiness of EMERGENCY CALL for an emergency call. Then the status indicator goes out.

If an EMERGENCY CALL is triggered the status indicator starts to flash (0.5 s on, 0.5 s off, ...). If no EMERGENCY CALL could be transmitted, the indicator lamp comes on. If data is transmitted, the status indicator returns to the same status as before the emergency call actuation

When the EMERGENCY CALL system is in the diagnostic mode, the status indicator also starts to flash (1 s on, 1 s off, ...)

An EMERGENCY CALL system error is present when the status indicator does not go out 5 s after switching on or when it comes on at a later time.
