Driver door closed

The anti-theft alarm (ATA) is activated by:

Centrally locking vehicle with transmitter key (A8/1)

Relocking function

Arming ATA

The ATA is armed with the "Lock" command from the transmitter key (A8/1). The status of the alarm inputs is checked cyclically (t = 500 ms). If 20 polls in sequence (approx. t = 10 s) indicate the non-actuated state, the corresponding input is armed. Alarm inputs which are later switched to idle status are also armed after a further 20 polls.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arming tow-away protection (TS)

The TS is activated t = 10 s after the ATA system is "armed". If one or more doors, the engine hood or the trunk lid is open, the ATA inclination sensor (B33) is activated t = 10 s after the last door (trunk lid, engine hood) is closed.

Arming alarm signal horn (H3)

The alarm signal horn (H3) is operational after "arming" the ATA system. The circuit is switched to the ready state by left SAM control unit (N10/10) transmitting two different arming commands. If the alarm signal horn (H3) is once armed, it is still actuated cyclically by the left SAM control unit (N10/10).

Feedback after successful activation

If the ATA is active, the LED in the hazard warning flasher and CL switch group (S6/5) in the interior CL close switch and the ATA function indicator (S6/5s3) flashes briefly once per second.

General conditions for ATA

The ATA is not activated when the driver door is open.

Activation of the ATA leads to interruption of any alarm triggered previously.

When the supply voltage is restored, the ATA is automatically reactivated, if it was active before the supply voltage was disconnected.

The tow-away sensor (TS) can be switched off separately via the TS OFF switch (N72s22).
