Function sequence

Locking with the key in driver's door lock

1 Basic condition:
Driver and co-driver's door closed.

Ignition: OFF.

2 The locking process was triggered mechanically with the key in the door lock (1) of the driver's door.

3 Mechanical locking is recorded by the door latch switch (S74), a change-over switch on the locking motor (M11) of the driver's door and by the lock convenience switch (S87) and reported immediately to the ZV/KSA control unit (A23).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4 The door latch switch signal causes the ZV/KSA control unit to actuate the locking motors (M11 and M12) in the in driver's and co-drivers' door.

The lock convenience switch signal (S87) causes the ZV/KSA control unit (A23) to actuate

the power window motors (M7 and M8) in the driver's and co-drivers' door

and

the tilting/sliding roof control (2).

The locking motors move into the "locked" position, the closed doors are locked, the open windows and the open tilting/sliding roof are closed in the course of convenience locking system. The cab interior lighting goes out.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The closure of the tilting/sliding roof can be suppressed with the tilting/sliding roof lock-out switch (S91).

If the co-driver's door is opened during the locking process, the closed driver's door is locked, unlocked and locked again in succession to show that the co-driver's door is open. Convenience locking system is not triggered in this case, the windows and tilting/sliding roof remain open.

The locking command for the co-driver's door is stored and the co-driver's door is relocked automatically when it is subsequently closed.

To close the windows and tilting/sliding roof in the course of convenience locking system, the mechanical locking process at the driver's door must be repeated once the co-driver's door is subsequently closed.
