Function

The throttle valve is opened according to the accelerator pedal sensor.

When the throttle valve is opened quickly by the throttle valve actuator, the mixture is enleaned briefly.

This results in a brief mixture adaptation in which an additional or a reduced quantity of fuel is allocated to the engine depending on the performance map by the motor electronics control unit.

Acceleration enrichment is dependent on:

 Coolant temperature

 Accelerator pedal position

 Engine speed

 Engine load

Acceleration enrichment prevents jerking when accelerating.
