Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m)

Disconnect battery ground line

Dashboard (1) removal

Unscrew nuts (4) and remove front passenger airbag (2) from instrument panel (1)


Handle front passenger airbag (2) carefully.
Otherwise, the paper cover on the front passenger airbag (2) may be damaged.

 If the front passenger airbag (2) is replaced, the wiring harness (3) must be replaced.

 Installation: The wiring harness (3) for the front passenger airbag unit (2) must be correctly routed. It must not be jammed or pass between the front passenger airbag unit (2) and the dashboard (1)!

Install in the reverse order



Check

Connect diagnostic system; read out fault memory

When replacing front passenger airbag (2).


