1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m) | ||
2 | Disconnect battery ground line | ||
3 | Remove steering wheel | ||
4 | Remove instrument cluster | ||
5 | Remove retaining frame of controls in instrument panel (1) center section | ||
6 | Remove center air vents | ||
7 | Remove PARKTRONIC system warning indicator in instrument panel (1) | Model 251 | |
8 | Remove sun sensor | ||
9 | Remove left side air vent | ||
10 | Remove paneling from left A-pillar | ||
11 | Remove glove box | ||
12 | Remove right side air vent | ||
13 | Remove paneling on right A-pillar | ||
14 | Unscrew bolts (2, 3) and bolts (4) | ||
15 | Release, disconnect and unclip electrical connector (5) | ||
16 | Unscrew nuts (6) | Nut, passenger airbag to dashboard crossmember | |
17 | Support steering column tube and unscrew bolts (7) | Screw/bolt, steering column tube to cockpit crossmember | |
18 | With a helper, lift instrument panel (1) until holes of bolts (7) are accessible | ||
19 | Re-insert bolts (7) so that steering column tube cannot fall | ||
20 | Unhook cable (8) | ||
21 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (9) from rotary light switch (S1) | ||
22 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (10, 11) from EZS control unit (N73) | ||
23 | Release and disconnect electrical connection (12) | ||
24 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (13) | ||
25 | Place center air vent connector (X122/1) to one side | ||
26 | Lift instrument panel (1) and, with a helper, carefully take out through front door | ||
27 | Install in the reverse order | ||

28 | Carry out function check |
