 This is necessary to enable the electric line for the head restraint drive to be removed.

 Danger

Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect electric line for head restraint up/down motor (M25m4, M26m4) and electric line for backrest from each other

 To do so, open plug housing and disconnect lines.

Remove backrest cover (2)

 Move backrest forward, unscrew bolts (1) and remove cover.

Release seat cover (3) on right side from backrest frame

Remove flexible shaft for head restraint drive (4) from head restraint up/down motor (M25m4, M26m4) and flexible shaft plastic guide (7)

 Installation: Long square to shaft on left side, shorter square to shaft on right side.

Bolts to head restraint motor (5)

Unscrew bolts to plastic grommet and pull plastic grommet (6) out of backrest

 Pull head restraint up/down motor (M25m4, M26m4) with electric line out of backrest frame.

Remove head restraint up/down motor (M25m4, M26m4)

Install in the reverse order

Check function of multicontour seat
