Remove/install

Drill out rivet connecting seat cushion frame bracket to seat frame base (arrow)

 To drill out the rivet, move front seat back to end stop.

Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground line from battery

Remove seat adjustment switch unit from front seat

Remove switch for multicontour seat

Remove the seat cushion

 Disconnect front seat heater pad electrical connector (R13/1x1 left, R13/3x1 right). Pull electric line of seat occupancy recognition from rubber grommet.

Remove screws from seat backrest cover (1) and remove cover (2).

Remove screws (3) at front seat (seat backrest) adjustment electric motor at left and right (M25m5, M26m5)

 Push in padding of seat backrest; remove screws.

Remove front seat (seat backrest) adjustment electric motor at left and right (M25m5, M26m5) and remove electric line from plug housing

 Mark before removing to prevent mixing them up.
The head restraint motor electric line is coupled with the electric line of the front seat (seat backrest) adjustment electric motor in a plug housing. Remove electric lines from plug housing.

Remove plastic grommet (6)

Remove front seat (seat backrest) adjustment electric motor at left and right (M25m5, M26m5) with electric line

 Disconnect cable tie and pull electric line out of backrest.

Install in the reverse order
