Danger! | Risk of injury in the form of trapping or crushing, or even severing of limbs, if caught in windshield wiper mechanism | Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism. | |
1 | Remove windshield wiper linkage cover | Installation: Before installing the windshield wiper linkage cover, check the function of the windshield wipers. | |
2 | Remove wiper linkage (1) of right windshield wiper from transfer lever (2) | ||
3 | Remove wiper linkage (1, 3) of right and left windshield wipers from lever (4) | ||
4 | Remove lever (4) from shaft of windshield wiper motor (5) | Installation: To install the lever (4) the wiper arms must be in the park position at the bottom edge of the windshield. The lever (4) must be put onto the shaft of the windshield wiper motor (5) in a horizontal position. | |
5 | Remove supporting plate (6) with windshield wiper motor (5) from front end. | Installation: Replace rubber seal. | |
6 | Disconnect plug (7) of connecting cable from windshield wiper motor (5) | ||
7 | Detach windshield wiper motor (5) from the carrier plate (6) | Installation: A new windshield wiper motor (5) must be moved into the park position before installation. | |
To do this, connect plug (7) of the connecting cable to the new windshield wiper motor (5), switch on ignition and switch the windshield wipers on and off again. | |||
8 | Install in the reverse order | ||
9 | Check for proper function | ||
