| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove paneling on B-pillar | ||
Installation: Only install paneling on B-pillar following a successful check of the soft top. | |||
2 | Mark position of main bearing (1) at two suitable points on B-pillar | ||
3 | Disconnect electrical connector (2) | ||
4 | Detach electrical wiring harness (3) from main bearing (1) | ||
5 | Unscrew bolt (4) | ||
6 | Fold down retainer (5) | Do not engage retainer (5). | |
7 | Remove bolt (6) | Make sure that nut of bolt (6) is not pressed out of retainer (5) housing. | |
Installation: To tighten bolt (6), the retainer (5) must be folded down and engaged. | |||
8 | Remove bolts (7) | Installation: Helper required to position roof cassette (8). | |
9 | Unscrew bolts (9) and remove main bearing (1) | Installation: Observe any previous markings. | |
Bolt, main bearing to B-pillar | |||
10 | Disconnect electrical connector at soft top drive electric motor | ||
11 | Install in the reverse order | ||

12 | Check soft top for proper function | If complaint present | |
