1 | Remove sliding door | ||
2 | Screw in bolt (1) hand-tight to secure door catch (2). | Use bolt removed with end piece from sliding door.The bolt (1) protects the door catch (2) against falling down.It is not possible to remove a door catch from the side wall after it has fallen down. | |
3 | Remove load compartment floor side ledge. | ||
4.1 | Cut sealant at joints of access opening and remove paneling sections. | Only if access openings made later are present. | |
4.2 | Cut access openings for guide rail on insulating paneling. | Only if access openings made later are not present. | |
5 | Expose nuts (3) by removing insulating foam in area of access openings. | ||
6 | Unscrew nuts (3) from guide rail (5). | ||
7 | Unscrew bolts (4) on guide rail (5) from door frame. | ||
8 | Heat guide rail (5) to loosen glued connection and remove from side wall. | Heat to max. 60 °C to prevent paint damage on guide rail (5). Wear protective gloves when removing heated guide rail. | |
| Install | ||
9 | Clean contact surface on guide rail (5) on side wall. | ||
10 | Remove protective foil from adhesive strip on new guide rail (5) and position guide rail on side wall. | ||
11 | Tighten guide rail (5) with nuts (3) and bolts (4). | | |

12 | Unscrew bolt (1) to secure door catch (2). | ||
13 | Install sliding door | ||
14 | Remove sealant residues from paneling sections and edges of access openings. | Only if access openings are present when starting repair. | |
15 | Refill removed insulating foam and fit paneling sections into access openings. | Precisely fit position of paneling section to surface of insulating paneling by filling or removing insulating foam. | |
16 | Close joints on paneling sections with sealant. | ||
17 | Install load compartment floor side ledge. |
