Remove/install

Open flap in rear roof stowage box (2)

Remove electrical wiring harness for reading lamp, left roof stowage box and reading lamp, right roof stowage box from rear headliner (1)

 Observe assembly position of electrical wiring harness.

Remove left and right side pop-up roof cutout paneling

Remove roller sun blind on left and right rear side window

Remove center rear interior lamp (E15/14)

Fold rear section of mattress pad (6) toward front

Unscrew bolts (7) and lower rear headliner (1) until electrical connectors on speaker in roof stowage box are accessible

 Helper required to hold rear headliner (1) to screw in last bolt (7).

Disconnect electrical connectors from speakers on roof stowage box

 Helper required to hold rear headliner (1).

Disconnect electrical connector from PARKTRONIC rear warning element (A44/3)

 Helper required to hold rear headliner (1).

Unclip rear headliner (1) from retaining clips (8)

 Helper required to hold rear headliner (1).

Guide out rear headliner (1)


Carefully guide out rear headliner (1) with aid of helper.
Otherwise the rear headliner (1) or the vehicle interior can be damaged.

Remove PARKTRONIC rear warning element (A44/3)

If the rear headliner (1) is being replaced.

Remove speaker from rear headliner (1)

If the rear headliner (1) is being replaced.

Remove covers for speaker in roof stowage box

If the rear headliner (1) is being replaced.

Install in the reverse order


