| Before opening and closing the center door open front and rear door. Center door should be slammed, not pushed closed. | ||
| Protect interior equipment and floor covering against contamination and damage. | ||
1 | Remove key from electronic ignition/starter switch control module | With keyless Go code 889: Press start/stop button until zero position is activated. | |
2.1 | Remove left and right side paneling in trunk | With electrically adjustable curtains, code P082. | |
3.1 | Separate control cables from upper curtain rail (1) on separation points in trunk | With electrically adjustable curtains, code P082. | |

Remove, install curtain motor | |||
4 | Fold down rear seat head restraints (2a) | ||
5 | Remove head restraints (2b) from face-to-face seat | Remove head restraints (2b) vertically upward from rear seat backrest. | |
6.1 | Unhook curtain (3) on rear window from upper curtain rail (1) | With electrically adjustable curtains, code P082. | |
7 | Remove left and right paneling from C-pillar (4) | ||
8.1 | Unhook control cables of upper curtain rail (1) from clips in C-pillar | With electrically adjustable curtains, code P082. | |
9 | Unhook clips (5) of headliner (6) from | ||
10 | Disconnect electrical connectors for wiring harness from rear headliner (6) on right below rear shelf (7) | ||
11 | Remove rear dome lamps (8) | ||
12 | Remove interior protection transmitter/receiver (A26/14) | ||
13 | Remove handle (9) in rear | ||
14 | Remove dividing wall paneling (10) | In passenger compartment | |
15 | Remove left and right side paneling (11) in rear | Center door paneling | |
16 | Remove headliner (6) downward along left and right roof pillar as well as in area of rear window | Fastened with Velcro strips. | |
17 | Move headliner (6) out of retaining | Due to reduced space: Carefully arch headliner (6) along lateral axis. | |
Do not kink roofliner. | |||
Installation: Hook retaining clips (12) in and align headliner (6). | |||
18 | Remove headliner (6) through right door opening in rear | ||
19 | Install in the reverse order |
