Removing

Preheat adhesive cartridge

 Remove adhesive cartridge from repair kit, insert unopened into cartridge preheater and switch on cartridge preheater The preheating time is at least 20 minutes.

Remove rear-end door lining

Detach connector 1 for heated rear window (single door) (E57.1)

 Remove any window frame paneling.

Remove wiper arm (4)

Only vehicles with code (W78) Window in liftgate or hinged rear door with wiper/washer system

 Danger!

Risk of injury due to tear or warming up of cutting wire and through glass splinters when cutting out glued windows

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Cut out rear window (2) using cutting wire (5)

Cut glue residues off of body flange

 Cut residual adhesive material back by approx. 1 mm (remove any loose residual adhesive material).

Prepare and attach spacer (3)



Prepare body flange for installation of window

 Apply primer to body (only on primed surface).



General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area

Pay attention to notes concerning the preparation of new parts such as the A-pillar, the roof or the side walls.

Attach rubber window spacer to body flange

 Do not remove protective foil.

 Bend connector 1 for heated rear window (single door) by approx. 140°.
