Remove/install

Empty the fuel tank (1).

Remove the right rear fender liner.

Remove tank filler recess.

Remove screw (9).

Remove bleed line (15) from the fuel tank filler pipe (10) and seal with suitable stop plugs.

 Record plug

Remove brackets (16) from the body.

 Screw/nut, fuel tank filler pipe clamp to frame floor assembly

Unscrew nut(14).

 Nut, ground connection to filler neck bracket

Clean separating point (2).

Clean fuel lines (18) in the area of the separating point.

Remove bleed line (15) from the bleed line (17) and seal with suitable stop plugs.

Release and disconnect fuel lines from the separating point (2), capture escaping fuel in a suitable container, and seal with suitable stop plugs.

Remove fuel line (18) from the metering pump, capture escaping fuel in a suitable container, and seal with suitable stop plugs.

Release and disconnect electrical connector from the fuel pump.

Remove electrical wiring harness from the fuel tank (1).

Slowly lower fuel tank (1) further and remove.



Reconfigure fuel pump.

When replacing the fuel tank (1).

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
