1 | Drain fuel tank (1), fill | Fuel tank (1) is not drained fully! | |
2 | Remove bottom part of noise encapsulation below the fuel tank (1) | ||
3 | Detach the filler hose (2) at the filler neck (3) and at the fuel tank (1), push it in the direction of the arrow above the filler neck (3) until it is completely pulled off from the fuel tank (1) | ||
4 | Detach fuel hoses (10, 11) from the fuel filter (9) | Collect feathering-out fuel. Seal fuel hoses with suitable plugs. Replace collar clamps. | |

5 | Detach vent hose of activated charcoal canister (12) at activated charcoal canister (8) | ||
6 | Remove fuel hose (15) for auxiliary heater at fuel metering pump (16) | In vehicles with code (HZ6) warm water auxiliary heater with timer. Collect feathering-out fuel. Seal fuel hose with suitable plug. Replace collar clamp. | |
7 | Expose the electrical line (14) and disconnect the connector (13) | ||
8 | Detach exhaust bracket (6) at vehicle floor | ||
9 | Unscrew the nuts (4), press the exhaust stack covering (5) sideways in the downward direction and take off the fuel tank (1) using a second person. At the same time, guide the vent line (7) out of the non-return throttle valve pipe (17) when removing the fuel tank (1). | Installation: Replace self-locking nuts (4). Insert the vent line (7) into the non-return throttle valve pipe (17) when installing fuel tank (1). | |

Fit existing fuel pump with fuel level sensor | |||
Modify non-return throttle valve pipe (17). Installation position is preset through a fixation (arrow). | |||
