Remove/install

Remove left or right wheel and tire assembly.

Loosen counternut (2) on inner tie rod (1).

 Installation:
The tie rod (4) must always be counterheld.
Otherwise the tie rod (4) will be damaged.

 After loosening, do not turn the counternut (2) on the inner tie rod (1) any more.

Unscrew nut (3).


The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used.
Otherwise the ball head or the steering knuckle (6) will be damaged.

 Nut, tie rod to steering knuckle

Pry tie rod (4) off steering knuckle (6).

Do not damage boot (5) when prying off.
Otherwise the tie rod (4) will have to be replaced.

Unscrew tie rod (4) from inner tie rod (1).

 Installation: Screw on tie rod (4) up to counternut (2).

Install in the reverse order.

Concluding tasks

Perform chassis alignment.
