 	Remove/install
1	Turn steering to center position and engage steering wheel lock	 Wheels must be in straight-ahead position.
2	Suction off steering gear oil in steering gear oil reservoir	Hand pump	*112589007200

3	Remove bottom section of soundproofing		AR94.30-S-5300A
4	Remove bolt (1) from universal joint (2) to steering shaft (3) and detaching universal joint (2) from steering shaft (3)	 Mark position of steering shaft (3) relative to universal joint (2) with colored pencil (arrow).

		Torx bit set	*000589011000
5	Remove ball head (4), left and right, on steering knuckle (5)	Replace self-locking nut (6). Ball head (4) remains attached to track rod (7).	AR46.40-S-7242A
6	Unbolt nut (8) at connection of tension strut (9) to stabilizer (10)	 Press stabilizer (10) upwards and attach to spring strut with suitable wire.

7	Unbolt high-pressure expansion hose line (12) and return line (11) at steering gear	 Catch steering gear oil running out.	AR46.20-S-3400-01A

8	Remove lower charge air pipe (13)	 For engine 601.970	AR09.41-S-8620A
9	Unbolt screwed connection (14) from steering gear on axle/engine subframe (15)		*BA46.20-N-1003-01A
10	Remove steering gear	 Remove steering gear to the right in direction of motion.
11	Install in the reverse order
	Checking
12	Correct fluid levels, Check steering system for leaks		AR46.25-S-3300A
13	Adjust toe		AR40.20-S-0323A
