Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts

Release lock

 To do so, apply compressed air to steering lock (1). If the locking cylinder (1) is locked, the tie rod (6) cannot be removed.

Remove locking cylinder (1)

Only if compressed air cannot be applied to locking cylinder (1).

 The compressed air connection remains mounted to the locking cylinder (1).

Remove vibration damper (3) from tie rod (6)

Unscrew nuts (4)


Do not turn bolts (5).
This prevents damage occurring to the longitudinal teeth of the bolts (5) or to the eccentric bush and ensures that the tie rod (6) can be adjusted on the eccentric disk.

Remove tie rod (6)


Use a plastic hammer.
This prevents damage to the thread on the bolts (5).

 To do so, knock bolts (5) out of eccentric bush.

Install in the reverse order


