Remove

1

Remove the command cylinder of the longitudinal lock

Remove the longitudinal differential cap

Remove drive shaft (1)

 If necessary, fit the drive flange to the drive shaft (1) with the collar nut and use a hoist to remove the drive shaft (1).

Remove the o tapered roller bearing from the drive shaft (1)

If the tapered roller bearing is damaged and worn:



Replace the tapered roller bearing.

Remove the shift fork (5)

 Caution when removing the shift fork (5) because the compression spring (8) is under tension.

Remove the guide sleeve (2)

Remove the compression spring (8)



Install

 Warning

Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Heat the tapered roller bearing () up to approx. 80°C and install at the drive shaft (1)

Only if the tapered roller bearing is removed from the drive shaft (1).

Install the sliding sleeve (2) on the differential housing

Install drive shaft (1)

 If necessary install the drive flange on the drive shaft (1) and use a hoist to install the drive shaft (1).

Install the compression spring (8) on the differential housing

Install the shift fork (5)

 The shift fork (5) must be installed with the engraved number facing the side of the longitudinal differential lock cap.

Install the longitudinal differential cap

Install the drive plunger (3) with the compensator washer (6) and the spacer washer (7) on the differential housing

15

Check the slack sleeve axial clearance (2) of the differential lock)
