Detach air line (7) from differential lock

Disconnect vent line from connection on differential assembly (4) in the area of the differential lock

Unscrew bolts (1) and pull out rear axle shafts (2)

 Pull out rear axle shafts (2) approx.
170 mm.

Remove propeller shaft (5)

 Detach propeller shaft (5) at rear axle only and secure it from dropping.

Install

Clean sealing surfaces on the axle housing and differential assembly (4) and coat with sealant

Grease four-point support (3) in axle housing

Pour oil into differential

 Before installation of the differential assembly (4) with sealed differential into the axle housing, add at least 0.5 l oil to the differential. Otherwise the differential's gears are not immediately lubricated and the entire differential assembly (4) may be destroyed.

Clean sealing surface on rear axle shaft flange (2) and on the wheel hubs, and apply sealant

Install rear axle shafts (2)

Connect temperature sensor connector (6)

Attach propeller shaft (5)

Attach compressed air line (7) to differential lock

 Use new sealing rings (8).

Release mechanical lock from differential lock
