Remove

Remove the crown with the cross-differential

Remove pinion housing (1)



Install

Install the pinion housing (1) to the differential assembly (3)

 Observe the size between the screws (A, B).

 Do not apply sealant now.

Measure

Measure the drive pinion installation distance (A)

If the pinion installation distance (A) is outside the prescribed range:



Remove the pinion housing (1) and install a new spacer washer (2)

Install the pinion housing (1) to the differential assembly (3)

 Apply sealant to the sealing surfaces of the pinion housing (1), the differential assembly housing (3) and both faces of the spacer washer (2).

 Observe the size of the screws (A, B).

Install the ring gear with the transversal differential

Check

Check the end play between ring gear and pinion

Clearance between the crown and pinion teeth

If the clearance between the crown and the pinion is outside the prescribed range:



Adjust the clearance between the crown and the pinion.
