Remove/install pinion housing with drive pinion

Remove

Remove the crown with the differential

Unscrew and remove the fastening bolts (5) of the pinion housing (1)

Remove the pinion housing assembly (1) and the compensating washer (2)

Remove the sealing rings (4) from the pinion's housing (1) orifices



Installing

Install the sealing rings (4) in the pinion's housing (1) orifices

Utilize new sealing rings.

Install the pinion housing (1) with the compensating washer (2) and tighten the bolts (5) to the specified torque



Determine the measurement (A), pinion's basic depth

 Measure the basic depth (A) with a depth caliper from the support center of the bearing to the pinion front surface and compare it with the basic measurement engraved on the pinion or on the crown.

Compensate the difference between measurement found and the basic depth measurement (engraved)

 Add or remove compensating washers (2) between the differential carrier (3) and the pinion housing (1).

Install the crown with the differential
