Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts

Remove bottom sections of noise encapsulation

 Center underbody paneling, rear underbody paneling.

Remove rear spring

Remove rear axle brake caliper (3) and tie to the rear axle with the brake hose connected

Detach hub cap



Unscrew collar nut (14)

 Installation: Replace and caulk collar nut (14)

 Collar nut, rear axle flange to trailing arm.

Remove rear axle brake disk with wheel hub (5)

Unscrew bolts for brake carrier (7)

 Self-locking bolt, brake carrier to trailing arm.

Remove brake carrier with parking brake shoes (6), brake cables and brake lines connected and tie to the rear axle

Unscrew bolt for rear damper (10)

 Bolt, damper to torsion bar and trailing arm.

Unscrew bolt of lower trailing arm (11)

 Bolt, torsion bar to trailing arm.

Loosen rear torsion bar (8)

 Installation: Install rear torsion bar (8) free from stress.

Remove spacer plate (9)

 Installation: Install spacer plate (9) with bend downwards. The spacer plate (9) is available in various thicknesses.

Unscrew threaded bush for trailing arm (12)

 Installation: Only tighten threaded bush for trailing arm (12).

 Bolt, trailing arm to rear axle carrier.

Detach trailing arm (1)

 Check trailing arm mounting and replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse order

Adjust parking brake
