Remove/install

Remove the rear wheels

Remove clamp (1) and remove brake hose (6) out of the bracket on the left and right of the rear axle (5)

Unscrew the bolts (2) on the left and right and pull out left rear rpm sensor (L6/3) and right rear rpm sensor (L6/4)

 Installation: Replace sealing rings and bolts (2).



Remove electrical line (3) and hand brake cables (4) on the left and right of the rear axle (5)

Remove brake pads on rear axle

On vehicles with code (30Y) Rear axle disk brake

Fasten left and right brake caliper (16) at the nuts (7) with cable ties

On vehicles with code (30Y) Rear axle disk brake

6.2

Remove left and right wheel bearing (12), secure brake carrier plates (13) and detachable parts with cable ties to prevent them from falling down

On vehicles without code (30Y) Rear axle disk brake

 Ensure that the brake lines are not damaged due to kinking otherwise they must be replaced.

Position removal fixture (8) under the rear axle (5)

 The main lifters from the companies Mazzola and AS Hydraulic can be used according to choice.



Use belt (9) to secure rear axle (5)



Remove rear springs

Unscrew bolts (10) on left and right sides

 Installation: Replace self-locking bolts (10).

 Installation: Fit bolts (10) and then tighten them.



Lower rear axle (5) and detach from the removal fixture (8)

 Helper required



Unscrew bolts (11) and remove wheel bearing (12) with brake carrier plate (13), brake caliper support (14) and brake disk (15)

When replacing the rear axle (5) on vehicles with code (30Y) Rear axle disk brake

 Installation: Replace self-locking bolts (11).

 Installation: The pressed-in arrow on the wheel bearing (12) must point in the direction of travel.


