2	Unplug cable of brake pad wear indicator (8)
3	Detach connection cable of brake pad wear indicator (7)	 Installation: Install new bolt (6).

4	Pull ABS sensor (5) with plug bushing of ABS sensor (10) out of the mounting hole	 Mark ABS sensors before removing in order to avoid any risk of confusion of the ABS sensors.  The cable of the ABS sensor on the right-hand side is labeled at the factory with a white tag.

5	Remove cable ties (arrows) from hand brake cable and uncover connection cable for brake pad wear indicator (10) and if necessary for ABS sensor up to pulley unit of parking brake		*352589023700
6	Detach handbrake cable (3)		AR42.20-D-0520-03A
		 Installation: Adjust parking brake.	AR42.20-D-0540C
7	Remove brake cables at the relay unit	 Compress circlip on the transfer unit.

8	Detach both shock absorbers (15) at rear axle (6)	 Installation: Replace nut (12).

9	Detach stabilizer bar (23) at rear axle		AR32.35-D-2210B
10	Detach ALB lever (4) from rear axle bracket	 Installation: Install new nut (5).

 Danger!	Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. 11	Unscrew brake hoses (11) from brake lines on body	 Seal line ends with plugs in order to avoid any soiling.

12	Pull vent line (18) of rear axle out of frame	 Transfer vent line when installing new rear axle.
13	Unscrew propeller shaft (16) at rear axle flange and tie to the side.	 Do not allow propeller shaft to dangle down otherwise the needle roller bearings in the universal joint could be damaged.

14	Move telescopic jack under axle, support axle and secure axle against falling down using tensioning strap on jack	Telescopic lifter gotis://H_00.10_01.0
15	Unscrew nuts (19) on spring brackets (1), remove spring brackets (1) and spring plates (2)	 Installation: Replace nut (19).

16	Remove rear axle.
17	Install in the reverse order	 Modify when replacing the rear axle brake lines.
18	Inspect oil level at rear axle without changing oil, adjust to correct level if necessary
