3 | Detach transmission shaft (14) from the pinion coupling flange and firmly fasten the shaft to the chassis frame by means of a suitable rope or tape |

4 | Remove articulation pins (10) from combination cylinder rods (13) and withdraw the rods to avoid their interfering with the removal of the rear axle | To remove the pivot pin (10), maintain the compressed air system under pressure, if possible, and release the parking brake. | |
Installation: Install new cotters. | |||
5 | Release pressure from compressed air system tanks | ||
6 | Separate flexible pipe connections (5) from combination cylinders (13) | Installation: Install new seal washers. | |

9 | Remove the shock absorber (22) washers (24) and fastening screws (23) on the lower support | Installation: Check rubber bushing conditions in the shock absorber mounting eyes and use new self-locking nuts to fasten the shock absorbers to the lower supports. | |
10 | Unscrew screws (18) with washers (19) and remove bearing caps (21) from the stabilizer bar | Installation: Check rubber bushing conditions of the torsion bar mounts. | |
11 | Position a suitable lifting device under the rear axle (7) and lift the rear axle slightly to reduce the effect of its weight on the rear springs | Do not lift the axle by the differential housing. | |
12 | Remove nuts (17) from the spring clamps (2) of the rear springs (1) | Installation: Rework the threads on the "U" clamps with a thread cutter. | |

13 | Remove rear axle spring clips (2), the lower supports, and guide plates (3) | ||
14 | Lower the rear axle (7) and remove support blocks (4) from the springs | ||
