Remove/install

 Installation

Replace self-locking nuts and bolts.

Remove damper (11) with front spring (12)

Disconnect front axle distributor plug connector (X62/6 or X62/7)

 Danger!

Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Unscrew brake line (40) from brake hose (39)

 Plug connections immediately.

The brake fluid reservoir must not be allowed to empty completely.

Open double end box wrench, WAF 8x9 mm or WAF 10x11 mm

 Installation:  The brake hose must not be twisted after tightening.

Remove steering knuckle (5) at upper transverse control arm (6) on hook

Remove upper transverse control arm (6)

Detach linkage for headlamp range adjustment (95b) at lower control arm (4)

Right side (when fitted)

Detach lower control arm (4) at front axle carrier

 Installation: Tighten new nuts slightly up to support.

Tighten the nuts only when the vehicle is standing on its wheels in ready-for-operation condition.

Install in the reverse order
