Remove

Remove complete wheels of front axle (10)

Unscrew brake lines (13) at terminal blocks (14a) and close off using suitable stop plugs

 Record plug

Unscrew screw/bolt (17) and remove brake wear sensor (18)

Pull ABS sensor out of steering knuckle

Unscrew universal joint clamp screw/bolt (11)

6

Rotate steering wheel into center position and fix steering wheel with holding device

Detach universal joint (5) at steering gear

Remove pressure line (6) at steering gear

Unscrew nuts (3)

Install engine support and raise engine far enough to relieve the load on the supports for the front axle housing

Remove holding device at steering wheel

Mount universal joint (5) at steering gear and tighten universal joint clamp bolt (11)

 Replace universal joint clamp screw/bolt (11).

 Ensure the steering wheel and steering gear are in the center position.

Drain engine and tighten bolts (8)

 Ensure they are properly seated in the bores in the front axle housing.

Mount brake wear sensor (18) and tighten screw/bolt (17)

 Ensure that the line of brake wear sensor (18) routed without kinks.
