Drain the oil from the front axle housing



Release the venting tube (4) from the front axle

Remove the self-locking nuts (6), loosen the drive shaft (5) from the pinion coupling flange, and tie it to the chassis

 Do not permit the bottom half of the transmission shaft sliding off the top half and separating.

 Installation: Install the new self-locking nuts.
Tighten them sequentially before reaching the final torque. Keep the universal joint articulations aligned.

Support the vehicle on trestles placed behind the front springs bracket, leaving the wheels free

Depressurize the pneumatic system at the tanks

Disconnect the flexible line (7) from the membrane pneumatic cylinders (9)

Remove the castle nut (11) and extract the ball joint from the steering column (13)

Loosen the screws (8) and remove the lower eyelet of dampers (3) from the front axle

 .Damper on the support/front axle

Loosen the self-locking nuts (14) and remove the spring clips (2) and the torsion bar (1) retaining bridge from the front axle

 Installation: Apply sealant and lubricate the thread of the spring leaf clamps.
After the first 50-100 km are traveled, retighten the clamp nuts.

Remove the front axle

 Installation: Grease the guide screw and the hole of the support base on the axle.
The guide screw head should fit properly in the hole of the support base on the front axle.

Install in reverse order

 After installation of the axle, the vehicle must be subject to a complete adjustment of the turning angle and wheels alignment.
