22.10.02 | Special instructions on connecting hydraulic lines and hoses have been added |
| Remove/install | ||
Danger! | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid | Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by drilling gas-filled assemblies or components (noncombustible gases) | Wear safety glasses and a face mask.

1 | Remove finder liner in front fender | Left front fender
2 | Open the bleed screws (56) to release the pressure from the ABC system | The engine must be switched off for at least 5 minutes. To prevent the body of the vehicle from sinking rapidly, open the bleed screw (56) slowly to limit the flow rate of the emerging hydraulic fluid. Collect hydraulic fluid that flows out.
| |||
3 | Disconnect the high-pressure line (SP) from the pressure reservoir for the front suspension (14) and from the ABC front suspension valve body (Y36/1)
| |||
4 | Unscrew nuts (14a) and remove front axle pressure reservoir (14)
5 | Install in the reverse order
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
6 | Fill and bleed ABC system |
