Removing and installing

1

Place the vehicle on a flat, level surface. Chock the front wheels of the vehicle to prevent it from accidentally moving

If the vehicle is loaded, more precaution while lifting is required.

2

Disconnect the negative battery cable or turn off the main switch

3

Loosen the rear dampers from the upper fastener

The dampers should be released from the upper anchor to prevent them from exceeding the normal stroke and become damaged when the vehicle is supported by the stringers.

AR32.25-B-0110C

Danger

Risk of serious accidents!

Take due care when lifting the vehicle.

4

Lift the vehicle by the stringers on both sides, sufficiently to relieve the anti-roll bar tension

At this point, support the vehicle on trestles conveniently arranged under the stringers, so that the anti-roll bar can be removed.

5

Remove the upper and lower nuts (12) and screws (11) from the anti-roll bar pivot cuffs and remove the side plates (10)

Upper fastening

6

Remove the nuts (6) and screws (5) from the anti-roll bar bearings on the rear axle and remove the bearing caps (4)

Install:Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly inside the pads. After tightening the bearing screws, the anti-roll bar cannot be locked, i.e., it should rotate, even with some difficulty.

7

Remove the anti-roll bar (1) together with the pads (7) and the support bases (8)

8

If necessary, remove the upper brackets (13) from the pivot cuffs riveted to the stringers (15)

The upper brackets (13) should be removed only if they are damaged. To remove them, carefully drill the rivets and, when assembling, use screws with the same dimensions as the rivets, with self-locking nuts.

9

Place the support sleeve (A) on the support eyelet (13). At the opposite side, position the thrust sleeve (C), insert the spindle (D) on the thrust sleeve and screw it into sleeve A. Hold the spindle (D) from the hexagonal head and turn the nut on the spindle body until the joint sleeve (14) is removed inside the support sleeve (A)

*668589004300

Install:Clean the sleeve housing (14) on the bracket (13). Apply a layer of neutral petroleum jelly to the sleeve housing and, using the same tools used for removal, and the same procedures, install a new sleeve on the bracket, inserting it into the housing until it is faced on the eyelet.

*BR00.45-B-1001-06A

10

Support the eyelet of the anti-roll bar (1) on the support sleeve (A). On the opposite side, fit the mandrel (B) in the joint sleeve (14) and actuate the press (16) to remove the sleeve

*668589004300

Install:Lubricate the joint sleeve (14) with petroleum jelly. Support the eyelet of the anti-roll bar (1) on the support sleeve (A) and, on the opposite side, place one new joint sleeve (14) and fit the new mandrel (B) in the sleeve. Carefully actuate the press (16) until inserting the sleeve in the eyelet of the anti-roll bar.
