Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Remove/install

Release compressed air from air suspension system

Raise vehicle

Remove spare tire

Model 906.15/25 as of 6/1/15
with code PL9 (Air suspension, company VB-Airsuspension)
If the spare wheel is attached immediately in front of the covers (1, 3).

Unclip expansion rivet (2) and remove cover (1)

Unclip expansion rivet (4) and remove cover (3)

Only if air couplings (6, 7) are not reached.

Mark air couplings (6, 7) for valve (5) and air couplings (9) for valve unit (Y10)

Unscrew air couplings (6, 7) at valve (5)

 Installation: Observe markings, do not mix up air couplings (6, 7).

 Air coupling at compressor, valve unit, air suspension bellows, compressed air reservoir

Close off open connections with stop plugs

 Record plug

Remove screw/bolts (11)

 Bolt, valve block to carrier

Remove valve (5) from carrier (12)

Disconnect electrical connection (8)

Unscrew air couplings (9) at valve unit (Y10)

 Installation: Observe markings, do not mix up air couplings (9).

 Air coupling at compressor, valve unit, air suspension bellows, compressed air reservoir

Close off open connections with stop plugs

 Record plug

Remove bolts (13)

 Bolt, valve block to carrier

Remove valve unit (Y10) at carrier (12)

Install in the reverse order


