1 | Disassemble transfer case | ||
2 | Detach gear (3) together with pressure plate (2) and tapered roller bearing (1) | Use thrust piece. | |

3 | Remove sliding sleeve (7) | ||
4 | Release and unscrew hexagon nut (12) | ||
5 | Detach gear (9) together with pressure plate (10) and tapered roller bearing (11) | Use thrust piece. | |

6 | Remove needle roller bearing (8). | ||
7 | Remove oil throwers (5, 6) | Only when oil throwers are loose or damaged. | |
| Assemble | ||
8 | Install new oil throwers (5, 6). | Insert oil thrower (5) up to end stop and insert oil thrower (6) far enough in to ensure that the oil hole transverse to the drive shaft is not closed off. | |
9 | Slide gear (3) and pressure plate (2) onto input shaft (4) | Lightly lubricate the contact surface of the gear with oil. | |

10 | Heat tapered roller bearing (1) to approx. 100 °C and push on | Adjust tapered roller bearing (1) to zero axial clearance and lubricate. | |
Temperature measuring device (measuring range -200°C to +1000°C) | |||

11 | Slide sliding sleeve (7) onto gear (3) | ||
12 | Insert needle roller bearing (8) into gear (9) | ||
13 | Slide gear (9) together with needle roller bearing (8) and pressure plate (10) onto drive shaft (4) | ||

14 | Heat tapered roller bearing (11) to approx. 100 °C and push on | Adjust tapered roller bearing (11) to zero axial clearance and lubricate. | |

15 | Tighten hexagon nut (12) and secure | Use new hexagon nuts (12). Use a chisel to make a notch in the hexagon nut (12) bar, location of notch to be opposite direction of rotation. | |
