	Remove
1	Disassemble transfer case		AR28.10-D-1001A
2	Remove flange of transfer case to front axle and radial sealing ring		AR28.40-D-0001A
3	Remove output shaft to front axle (11)	 Remove output shaft using a soft metal drift or hydraulic press. The output shaft must not tilt when in the sliding sleeve.
4	Pull out shift rod (6)	Remove shim (4) and detach retaining ring (5).
5	Remove bearing outer race (13) and remove shims (14, 15)		*000589353300

6	Remove sliding sleeve (12), shift fork (3) and compression spring (2)
7	Remove ball bearing (9)
8	Remove shim (8) and spacer ring (7)
	Install
9	Insert spacer ring (7) into the housing front part (1)
10	Check axial play of output shaft to front axle, adjust if necessary	 The ball bearing (9) is installed during the measuring process.	AR28.50-D-1004-01A

11	Install shift rod (6)	 The rounded teeth of the sliding sleeve must point towards the output.	AR28.60-W-1004-04A
12	Check the axial play of the planet carrier, adjust if necessary		AR28.50-D-1003-02A

13	Install correct shims (14, 15) in front section of housing (1) and install bearing outer race (13)	 Use a suitable drift.
14	Guide the output shaft to the front axle (11) through the sliding sleeve (12) and install	 Install output shaft using a soft-metal drift or with a hydraulic press. The output shaft must not tilt when in the sliding sleeve.
15	Install radial sealing ring and flange of transfer case to front axle		AR28.40-D-0001A
16	Assemble transfer case		AR28.10-D-1002A
