Removing

Remove engine encapsulation

Unhook selector lever cable (3) from transmission

Loosen cover of shift unit (1) on gearshift dome (2)

Press out rubber grommet (4)

Detach shift unit (1) from gearshift dome (2)

Pull up shift unit (1) gently and disconnect the dial illumination connector

Pull out complete shift unit (1) with selector lever cable (3) and rubber grommet (4)

Unscrew selector lever cable fixing (arrow) at the hanger plate

Mark position of fixing bolts in the oblong holes.

Unhook selector lever cable (3) from the shift unit (1)

Remove console (arrow) behind the gearshift dome

The console has to be removed to insert the rubber grommet (4).

Installing

Hook the selector lever cable (3) into the shift unit (1)

Attach selector lever cable (3) with selector lever cable fixing to the hanger plate

Attach the selector lever cable fixing in the position marked previously or move to the center position.

Install shift unit (1) with selector lever cable (3) and rubber grommet (4) in the gearshift dome

Install rubber grommet in the floor panel.

Connect up the dial illumination connector

Attach shift unit (1) and ground cable to the gearshift dome (2)

Attach cover to shift unit

Press in rubber grommet (4)

Hook selector lever cable (3) onto transmission

Install console behind gearshift dome
