Remove and install

Remove the retarder

The retarder must not be removed only if the pressure relief valve is removed.

Remove the threaded plug (4) from the relief valve

 The threaded plug (4) is under pressure.



Remove the rear housing (1) and the relief valve's components

Relief valve's components, spring (3) and the valve element (2). Mark the assembly position of the valve's element (2).

Install: Check whether the valve element (2) is adequately seated on the rear housing's orifice (1).

Remove the oil pump's external housing (5)

Install: Check the correct assembly position of the oil pump external housing (5).

Remove the driven gear (7) and the drive gear (8)

Remove the oil pump's external housing (9)



Remove the compensating washer (10) and the pin (6) from gearbox housing (1)

Install: Determine the thickness of the compensating washer (10) of the oil pump when the oil pump or the gearbox housing is replaced.



Determine the compensating washer for the oil pump

AR26.55-B-3000-01B

It must not be a clearance in the oil pump. Use the corresponding washer.

 Depth caliper gage

Clean all the pieces, check for damages and replace if necessary.

Install in reverse order
