4 | Determine countershaft shim (19) for countershaft (14). | The countershaft shim (19) ensures the correct preload for the tapered roller bearing on the countershaft (14). | |

5 | Remove countershaft (14) and outer bearing race of countershaft front tapered roller bearing (20) from transmission housing (12). | ||
6 | Place previously determined shim (19) for countershaft (14) in transmission housing (12). | ||
7 | Install outer bearing race of countershaft front tapered roller bearing (20) and countershaft (14) in transmission housing (12). | ||
8 | Install transmission housing (12) |
