Retaining spring
1 | Remove the coupling body (1) and synchronizer ring (2) of the 5th gear from the main shaft (12). |
2 | Carefully remove the shift sliding sleeve (3). |
3 | Remove the strut detentes (7) and detent springs (6). |
4 | Remove the snap ring (4). |
5 | Remove the synchronizer hub (5). |
6 | Remove the synchronizer ring (8) and the synchronizer cone (9) of the 6th gear. |
7 | Remove the 6th speed gear (10) and the needle bearing (11). |
Remove

8 | Install the needle bearing (11) on the main shaft (12). |
9 | Install the 6th speed gear (10) on the main shaft (12) with the wide, sloped, and toothed part facing downwards. |
10 | Install the synchronizer cone (9) on the 6th speed gear (10) with the cone facing upwards. |
The oil grooves on the synchronizer cone (9) and the 6th speed gear (10) must get aligned with each other. |
11 | Install the synchronizer ring (8) on the 6th gear synchronizer cone (9). |
12 | Install the synchronizer hub (5) on the main shaft (12) with the protuberant side facing downwards in such a way the big stop saliences of the synchronizer ring (8) fit in the big recesses on the synchronizer hub (5). |
Install
Replace the lock-ring (4), the detent springs (6), and the strut detentes (7). Oil the synchronizer rings (2) and (8) and the needle bearing (11).

13 | The lock-ring (4) must fit with no gap. If necessary, use a new lock-ring. |
14 | Place the shift sliding sleeve (3) until it gets in contact on the synchronizer hub (5). |
15 | Install the detent springs (6) in the holes on the synchronizer hub (5) and press them inwards with the strut detentes (7) until the strut detentes (7) fit in the toothed part of the shift sliding sleeve (3). |
16 | Install the synchronizer ring (2) on the synchronizer hub (5) in such a way the big stop saliences of the synchronizer ring (2) fit in the big recesses of the synchronizer hub (5). |
17 | Install the coupling body of 5th gear (1) on the synchronizer ring of the 5th gear (2). |
18 | Move the shift sliding sleeve (3) to the neutral position and install the locks. |
