Remove

Disassemble

Remove bolts (7) except two opposite bolts (7)

Turn transmission until drive shaft (4) points upward

Remove remaining bolts (7)

Pierce the cap (2) in the center and lever out pry out


When removing, do not position the lever between the cap (2) and the seat.
If the seat is damaged, the front section of the transmission housing (6) must be replaced.

Counterhold drive shaft (4) with retainer wrench and remove bolt (3)

 If necessary, shift the transmission to any gear.

Detach front section of transmission housing (6)

 Get a second person to help.

Remove roller bearing (1) and check condition, replace if necessary


The roller bearing (1) is supplied with a white or black bearing cage. The color of the bearing cage for the new roller bearing (1) must match the color of the bearing cage for the removed roller bearing (1).
The drive shaft (4) or the main shaft can otherwise be damaged.



Clean

Clean sealing surfaces of transmission housing parts

 The sealing surfaces must be grease-free.

Assembly cleaner

Assemble

Check pilot bushing (5) is correctly seated, adjust if necessary

Apply sealant evenly to sealing surface of front section of transmission housing (6)

Loctite 5203 sealant

Install roller bearing (1)

Insert rear section of transmission housing (8) into front section of transmission housing (6)

Attach front section of transmission housing (6)

Screw in bolts (7) evenly in a crosswise sequence

 Screw/bolt, transmission housing rear section to transmission housing front section

Counterhold drive shaft (4) with retainer wrench and screw in bolt (3)

 If necessary, shift the transmission to any gear.

 Screw/bolt, countershaft to countershaft bearing

Install new cap (2)

 The cap (2) must seal flush and make contact evenly all-round.
