Removing

Remove transmission

Disassemble

Remove shift module

Remove front section of transmission housing

Take differential (1) out of the rear section of transmission housing (3).

Remove reverse gear shaft bolt

Remove screw (5)

Pull out shift rods (4).

Remove bearing bracket (6).

Remove rear transmission cover

Remove circlip (10).

Mount thrust device (12) and press input shaft (7) out of the grooved ball bearing (11)

 Ensure that none of the output shafts (8, 9) or the reverse gear wheel (2) are tilted when pressing out the input shaft (7).



Detach pressing tool (12).



Remove reverse gear gearwheel (2).

Remove input shaft (7) with output shafts (8, 9) from rear section of transmission housing (3).

 Mark installation position of shift forks.

Remove grooved ball bearing (11) from rear section of transmission housing (3).

Checking

Check bearings and bearing shells of input shaft (7) and output shafts (8, 9) and replace if necessary



Assemble

Install grooved ball bearing (11) in rear section of transmission housing (3)



Insert input shaft (7) with output shafts (8, 9) and the associated shift forks loosely in the rear section of the transmission housing (3)

 Pay attention to correct seat of shift forks on the output shafts (8, 9).

Insert reverse gear wheel (2) loosely into rear section of transmission housing (3)

Press input shaft (7) into rear section of transmission housing (3) using drift

 Ensure that the output shafts (8, 9) are correctly seated in the bearing shells and that the reverse gear wheel (2) is correctly seated in the rear section of transmission housing (3).



Insert bearing bracket (6).

 Pay attention to correct seat of bearing bracket (6) in rear section of transmission housing (3).

Insert shift rods (4).

 Pay attention to correct seat of shift rods (4) in rear section of transmission housing (3).

Screw in bolts (5)

Replace bolt (5)



Screw in reverse gear shaft bolt

 Replace bolt.



Insert differential (1) in the rear section of transmission housing (3).

 Pay attention to correct seat of differential (1).

Install front section of transmission housing

Fit circlip (10)

 Install new circlip (10).
