Remove air filter housing

Remove washer fluid reservoir

Remove support brace (2)

With engine 646.984/985/986

 Installation: Ensure correct seating of electrical line (3) at support brace (2).



Remove support brace (4) and place to one side with fuel filter

Put on engine support clamp

Remove charge air pipe

Lift/jack up vehicle

Unscrew bolt (5) at left engine carrier (1) and place ground line (6) to the side



Unscrew bolts (7) at refrigerant compressor (A9)

Only on vehicles with code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning (Tempmatic)



Raise engine until left engine mount (1) is relieved

 When lifting engine ensure that the visco-fan is not damaged. The engine must not lie at the rear on the body to avoid damage.

Remove bolts for the left engine support (1) at crankcase (8)


