Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

 Installation: Fill coolant reservoir.
Observe MTU Specifications for Operating Fluids when doing this otherwise the engine can be damaged.

Remove coolant thermostat (5)

 Installation: The arrows on the coolant thermostats (5) must point upwards otherwise malfunctions of the coolant thermostat (5) can occur.

Remove inlet nipple (2) from coolant pump (3)

 Remove inlet nipple (2) bolts on coolant pump (3).

 Installation: Install new seals on inlet nipple (2).

Remove V-belt from coolant pump (3)

Remove bolts (7) and belt pulley (6)



Remove bolts (8) and coolant pump (3)

 Installation: Replace seals on coolant pump (3).

Clean sealing surface on crankcase and coolant pump (3)
