Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling.

 Installation: Only reinstall lower engine compartment lining after leak test.

Remove the alternator

Drain coolant from the heat exchanger (6).

Remove line (7).

When removing the heating element (4).

Remove respective electric line (5).

 To do this, remove respective nut.

 Nut, electric line to heating element

Remove respective heating element (1, 2, 3, 4).

 Close respective opening in the coolant pipe.

Install in the reverse order.

Check

Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.
