1 | Open maintenance flap | ||
2 | Turn cap on expansion reservoir one half turn counterclockwise, relieve pressure and then unscrew cap from expansion reservoir. | ||
Danger! | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. | |

5 | Remove bolt (4) on heating system shutoff valve bracket (1) | ||
6 | Pinch off coolant hoses (3, 6) with clamping devices (5) | Clamping device | |
7 | Loosen spring clamp (2) on coolant hoses (3) | ||
8 | Remove coolant hose (3) from heating system shutoff valve (Y16/2) | Collect escaping coolant. | |
9 | Remove heating system shutoff valve bracket (1) from heating system shutoff valve (Y16/2) | ||
| Install | ||
10 | Place heating system shutoff valve bracket (1) on heating system shutoff valve (Y16/2) | Ensure that heating system shutoff valve (Y16/2) is seated correctly in heating system shutoff valve bracket (1). | |
11 | Position coolant hose (3) on heating system shutoff valve (Y16/2) and fasten using spring clamps (2) | ||
12 | Remove clamping device (5) | Clamping device | |
13 | Position heating system shutoff valve bracket (1) on transmission and tighten with bolt (4) | ||
14 | Install starter | Except on model 451.334/380/480 | |
15 | Lower vehicle with vehicle lift | ||
