Warning | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
1 | Remove the filling nozzle cap (1) of the compensation reservoir (2)
2 | Actuate the heat control, putting it in the opened position | Vehicle equipped with heating system.
3 | Check the coolant level
| . | ||
Reestablish if necessary.
4 | Install the tightness tester (3) in the reservoir supply mouth (2)
Tester | |||
5 | Connect a compressed air line to the intake connection (3.1) of the tightness tester (3) | The compressed air line must be equipped with an open and shut control valve.
6 | Submit the system to a pressure of 1.0 bar, controlling it by the intake pressure regulator (3.3) | When the pressure in the system reaches the check value (1.0 bar), interrupt the air feed, closing the compressed air line control valve.
7 | Check the tightness of the system, paying attention to the pressure stability, shown in the manometer of the tightness tester (3) | If a pressure drop is shown in the manometer of the tightness tester (3), check for leaks the engine, the water pump, the hoses, tubes, connections, radiator, expansion tank of the heating and cooling system.
8 | Depressurize the system through the discharge valve (3.2) and remove the tightness tester (3) | Disconnect the compressed air line from the intake connection (3.1).

9 | Correct eventual leaks in the heating and cooling system | Re-tighten the clamps and replace them. Replace the hoses or tubes. Repair or replace the radiator, water pump, expansion tank and correct engine leaks.
10 | Install the filling nozzle cap (1) of the compensation reservoir (2)
| . | ||
If necessary, reestablish the coolant level. |
