Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle with lifting platform

Remove lower engine compartment paneling

 Installation: Install the engine compartment paneling only after the leaktightness test has taken place.

Remove oil pan bottom section (1)

Remove bolts (4)

Remove oil pump with oil pressure relief valve (2)

 Installation:

 Ensure oil return flow check valve (3) is correctly installed.

 Clean the oil pump strainer.

 Fill the oil pump with engine oil before installing, so that oil is delivered at the initial startup.

Replace oil pressure relief valve

 The oil pressure relief valve is supplied together with the oil pump for repair purposes. It is therefore not necessary to disassemble the oil pump.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near engine

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Conduct engine test run and check the engine for leaks whilst it is running

 In the event of oil loss determine and eliminate cause, otherwise malfunctions, transmission damage, and serious environmental pollution may occur.
