Danger! | Risk of burns and scalding at jobs on AdBlue pipes and on components connected to them. Risk of injuries on skin and eyes from contact with AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from AdBlue ingestion | Only collect AdBlue in appropriate containers. Only start working on the exhaust gas aftertreatment system after pressure relief.
| Indications on applications, material properties and handling AdBlue | ||
1 | Open the access cover | ||
2 | Turn-off the ignition
Danger! | Risk of injuries on skin and eyes, from burns caused by steam or overheated coolant. Risk of poisoning from ingesting coolant | Open the cooling system only when the temperature is below 90 °C. Open the cap slowly and let the excessive pressure out. Coolant is not to be placed in beverage containers. Utilize gloves, appropriate clothes and safety glasses.
3 | Relieve coolant system pressure | Only vehicles fitted with AdBlue heating.
| Notes on engine coolant | ||
4 | Secure with the clamp and loosen the coolant pipe at the opening of pipe (5, 6) | Only vehicles fitted with AdBlue heating.
Catch the coolant in an appropriate container.
Installing Replace the O-ring. Identify the coolant pipes with their respective coolant pipe openings (5, 6). After installing the pump module (8), refill the cooling system with the collected coolant.
| |||
5 | Detach the electric connector (7) from the pump module (8) | Do not let the connector (7) get in contact with AdBlue. This may damage the electric wiring harness and the SCR control module.
6 | Check the electric wiring harness
7 | Remove the compressed air connector (4) at the pump module (8)
8 | Back-slide the piping (1) of the AdBlue suction opening for a length of some 10 cm
9 | Back-slide the pipings (2,3) of the AdBlue pipe openings for a length of some 20 cm
Identify the AdBlue pipes with their respective AdBlue pipe openings (2, 3).
Installing Replace the O-ring. Observe the identification of the pipes (2,3)
10 | Secure with the clamp and loosen the AdBlue pipes (1, 2, 3)
11 | Remove the fastening nuts (9)
12 | Remove the bolts (10) and separate the pump module (8) from the support
13 | Install in reverse order
14 | Charge the pressure accumulator of the pump module | Only if the replacement of the pump module is needed.
| Charge the AdBlue pressure accumulator | ||
15 | Check the pipes connection area for tightness | Just visual inspection. |
