Remove

Remove right connecting flange (1r)

Detach bracket (1h) from EGR line (16)

Turn bracket (1h) to the left and remove

Remove screw/bolt (17)

Remove screw/bolts on left connecting flange (1l)

Remove left connecting flange (1l) upwards

7

Close off intake ports of left cylinder head with rags



Clean

Remove sealant residue on left connecting flange (1l) and on left cylinder head


Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
The sealing surfaces can get damaged otherwise.

Loctite 7200

Check

Check the sealing surfaces on left connecting flange (1l) for damage


The sealing surfaces on left connecting flange (1l) must not show any signs of foreign objects, scratches or score marks.
Non-observance leads to leakage between the left connecting flange (1l) and the left cylinder head.

If damage is present



Replace left connecting flange (1l).

Check the sealing surfaces on the left cylinder head for damage



If damage is present



Replace left cylinder head.

Remove the rags from the left cylinder head

Replace seals (12) from left connecting flange (1l) on left cylinder head

Position left connecting flange (1l)

Screw in screw/bolts on left connecting flange (1l)

 Bolt, intermediate flange to cylinder head

Screw in screw/bolts (17)

 Bolt, EGR line to bracket

Turn bracket (1h) to the right and remove

Mount bracket (1h) on EGR line (16)

Remove right connecting flange (1r)
