 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Remove upper engine cover

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Remove pressure in the low-temperature circuit

Remove coolant vent line from charge air cooler (1) and close off connections using suitable stop plugs

Remove charge air cooler (1) and place with attached lines and hoses to one side

Release and disconnect electrical connection of throttle valve actuator (M16/6)

Remove screw/bolts (3) and take out the throttle valve actuator (M16/6)

 Installation: Tighten screw/bolts (3) in diagonally opposite sequence.

 Installation: Replace seals and make sure that the seals are seated correctly.

 Bolt, throttle valve actuator to charge air distributor

Install in the reverse order

Check coolant level and correct

 Coolant mixing ratio

Read out and erase fault memory


